Attorneys Jeff Friedman, Lee Patterson, Matt Conn, Ethan Wright, and Madison Gitschier successfully represented the City of Rome, Georgia, in an environmental lawsuit seeking compensation arising from PFAS contamination of the City of Rome’s public drinking water supply. The litigation involved dozens of defendants, spanned more than four years, and involved more than one hundred depositions and expert witnesses from across the United States.
The week prior to an anticipated 2-month trial, and following four days of pre-trial motion oral arguments, Friedman attorneys negotiated settlements with the six remaining trial defendants. This settlement marked one of the largest environmental settlements in Georgia history and one of the largest PFAS settlements in U.S. history in favor of a single public municipal water authority.
