McGhee vs. West Florida enterprises. Joel Williams represented the defendant/employer in a case involving claims for three Worker’s Compensation injuries and retaliatory discharge. The court granted summary judgment on all counts. The judgment for the defendant was affirmed on appeal. The plaintiff refused to consummate a settlement agreement previously reached at mediation. The defendant was also able to avoid incurring the cost of a second shoulder surgery. Expert testimony proved that the injuries in question did not cause the necessity for shoulder surgery.
