After a three-day jury trial, Joel Williams and Monroe Thronton, III received a defense verdict for our clients in a case involving a rear-end motor vehicle accident. At trial, the plaintiff admitted that there was no oncoming traffic as she approached a yield sign, but she still decided to stop at the yield sign. Her actions caused our client to collide with the rear of her vehicle. The plaintiff sued our clients, a truck driver, and his company, for negligence and wantonness. Joel and Monroe successfully argued for dismissal of the wantonness claim as a matter of law, and the jury rendered its verdict in favor of the defendants on the remaining claims.
